About Me

Timmy joined the 1st Sliema Scout Group in 1991 as a Cub Scout, attaining all his arrow work (Bronze, Silver and Gold Arrow) and a number of proficiency badges. He then crossed the line to the Troop, also completing all levels of training (Scout Standard, Advanced and Chief Scout Award) and went through all the ranks (Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader). In his time in the Troop he also attended the 19th World Scout Jamboree in Chile. He later moved on to the Venture Unit where he earned his Venture Badge, Venture Award and St. John's Ambulance First Aid Certificate.



He moved to the Troop as an instructor in 2002. In 2003 he completed the IHQ Level 1 Leadership course and was confirmed as an Acting Assistant Scout Leader. The following year he successfully completed the NSPCC 'Keeping Children Safe Programme' and Level 2 of his Leadership course. In 2005 Timmy completed his Level 3 Leadership training and was appointed Assistant Scout Leader by IHQ. During 2006 Timmy attended a specialised seminar: 'Working with Children with Dyslexia' - Level 1. In July of 2007, Timmy attended the 21st World Scout Jamboree as a Troop Leader of Troop 1 in the Malta Contingent.



Timmy was officially appointed as Scout Leader as of the 31st of August 2007. In November 2007 he completed his final step of Leadership Training and was awarded the Wood Badge in January 2008 and in 2009 received his warrant as a Woodbadge holder.



In 2010, Timmy was awarded the Chief Scout's Commendation for Good Service



In 2011, Timmy attended the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in Sweden as a Unit Leader of Troop 1



In 2012, Timmy joined the National Staff as an assistant Training Commissioner until 2014



In 2014, Timmy joined the National Staff as an Assistant Commissioner for Admin - Communications.  During this year Timmy attended the Scout Academy in Serbia



In 2015, Timmy took over the post as Group Scout Leader within the 1st Sliema Scout Group.  Later during the year he attended the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan as a Unit Leader of Troop 1



In 2016, Timmy was awarded the Medal of Merit. During this year Timmy attended the first European Scouts & Guides ICT Network meeting in Greece



In 2017, Timmy attended the Scouts and Guides ICT Network meeting in the UK



In 2018, Timmy attended the Communications Forum in Estonia



In 2019, Timmy was on the planning team of the European Scouts & Guides ICT Network meeting in the Czech Republic.  During this year Timmy was appointed as the Association’s representative on the Global Communication Network.  Timmy headed the Malta Contingent that attended the 24th World Scout Jamboree in North America



In 2023, Timmy headed the contingent that attended the 25th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea



In 2024, Timmy joined the National Staff as a Photographer



Born in 1984, grew up in Sliema and now lives in St. Paul’s Bay. Educated at De La Salle College, Naxxar Higher Secondary & MCAST IICT. He has completed his First Diploma in Computing & Advanced Diploma in Computing at the Institute for Information and Communication Technology at MCAST. He has concluded his International Advanced Diploma in Computing at The Swatar Training Centre. He has also graduated with a BTEC Higher National Diploma in Computing from MCAST IICT. Graduated with a BsC in IT and now works full-time with Intertek Laboratories as an IT Support Specialist.
